It was set up under the foundation of the Graphic Era Education Society (GEES) in 1996 as a non profit organization. The university has got recognition from University Grants Commission (UGC) and is a member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It has also been accredited by NAAC.

Student’s choice award is a measure to find – Educational Institutes which are admired by students and inspire generations. The focus of this award would be New Age Educational Institutes that give preference to New age methodology of grooming knowledge workers and prioritizes induction of
