Atishi Marlena Singh

Atishi Marlena Singh is a member of the legislative assembly. She is based in Delhi. She completed her graduation from St. Stephen's College, Delhi, and her masters from the University of Oxford. Formerly she was an advisor to the Deputy Chief Minister, Co-Founder of Maanavsthali, Researcher of Eklavya, and a Teacher at Rishi Valley School. Atishi is the MLA from the Kalkaji constituency of Delhi. Her entry into politics was through India Against Corruption movement which culminated in the birth of the Aam Aadmi Party in 2012. She is currently a PAC member of the Aam Aadmi Party. Before entering the murky waters of Indian politics, Atishi has been an activist and educationist working towards engaging communities on social and ecological issues. She feels most passionately about reforming the public education system in India and is best known as the architect behind Delhi's Education Revolution. The transformation of Delhi's public education system has given 1,600,000 children the opportunity to realize their full potential, irrespective of their family's socio-economic background. As a Rhodes scholar, a grassroots activist, an educationist, a policy reformer, and most recently a popularly elected people's representative, Atishi has 360 degrees perspective on governance issues. She is currently the Chairperson of three Delhi Assembly Committees the Committee on Environment, the Public Accounts Committee, and the Standing Committee on Education.
